One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the number of amazing make-up palettes that companies release. Palettes make great gifts, but personally, I just like to stock up for myself.
This year it seems every company is stepping up their game and offering a great palette. With so many to choose, I’ve decided to narrow down the great values from the duds for you. So without further ado here are this year’s best palettes:
5) Buxom’s Layer on the Gems eyeliner set – $29.00
This makes the list mainly due to Buxom’s amazing eyeliners. They go on easily and true to color, which a must in colored eyeliners. Plus, this deep jewel colored set is beautiful!
4) Too Faced’s Sweet Indulgence Palette – $52.00
Complete with 16 eye-shadows, 2 blushes, 2 bronzers, a highlighter, a primer, and a make-up brush, this palette is worth every cent you spend on it. It stands up to Too Faced’s normal quality (which is not often the case with palettes) and comes it a cute tin carrying case.
3) Bare Mineral’s The Star Treatment eye shadow Palette – $40
Over the years, I’ve had a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with Bare Minerals. I found their complexion sets too cakey and their eye-shadow’s lack-luster. So imagine my surprise when I tried The Star Treatment palette and actually liked it. The colors stay within this season’s trends of golds and smoky bronzes but their particular color offering is universally flattering. Better yet, the shadows are very pigmented, giving me no reason to complain.
2) Urban Decay’s The Vice Palette – $52.00
Eye-shadow palettes are probably my favorite because they let to buy a lot of colors without breaking the bank. This palette is amazing for so many reasons. First, it gives a huge range of colors. Better yet, the quality is phenom! The eye-shadows are highly pigmented, making application a breeze! Extra bonus: it comes with its own make-up brush!
1) Smashbox’s The Master Class – $59.00
I think it’s hard to refute that this is probably the best bang for your buck palette on the market right now. For a mere $59.00 you get 24 eye-shadows, 8 crème eyeliners, 4 brow tech powders, 4 lipglosses, 3 illuminators, and 2 blushes. Considering this is all Smashbox, this collection would set you back a pretty penny if bought individually!
